Here’s To 25

I’m going to make everything around me beautiful – that will be my life.

July 22, 2016.

The sun rose at 6:19am in Empire, Michigan this morning.

I wish I could tell you I ran down to the beach to watch the sun rise. That would be a lie.

I wish I could tell you it was the most beautiful sunrise I’ve ever seen. That would be a lie.

And, I absolutely wish I could tell you I didn’t slip off the dock and fall in. Yeah, that would also be a lie.

But, what I can tell you is this morning I woke up without any alarm, ate my usual breakfast, and drove to the most breathtaking beach that I have been to every year since I was born, and watched the sun rise over the lake at the end of this dock.

It is my 25th birthday today.

I’m in a place of my life I’ve never been before. I’m so in love.

I’m not in love with someone or something, but I’m in love with my life.

With tears rolling down my face, I am so happy.

I can’t explain it.

 Today, continues my journey.

Today, I am going to run my 18 miles.

Today, I hit 2,000 miles on my brand new car.

And, today, I will start the next quarter of my life.

I have learned to love who I am. I have learned to love where I came from. I have learned that passion takes you places you never thought you could go.

I am still learning to listen more. I am still learning to appreciate the people around me more. I simply still have so much more to learn.

I just want to say thank you. Thank you to my Mom. To my Dado. To my brothers, sisters and family. To my friends. To my coaches. To those people around me that have pushed me to be where I am today. To those who have supported my journey.

 To my God.

I am on the other side. I made it through y’all.

My journey is still going. Going so strong. With so much heart, passion, and arms open wide.

 So here’s to 25.

Here’s to chasing my dreams. Here’s to finding my purpose. Here’s to loving the people around me. Here’s to making a difference. Here’s to changing my life.
